TORROX PUEBLO  EN  TORROX COSTA

Torrox is one of the whitewashed Spanish villages you will find in Andalucia. The town has 12000 inhabitants and is situated around 32 miles east of Malaga (the major town in this province), with very good road connections to both Sevilla, Granada and other exciting areas to visit. There is only a short distance to bigger towns like Nerja and Torre del Mar.

The town is 2 miles from the coastline, lies approximately 145 yards above sea level, and is surrounded by the spectacular Sierra Almijara Mountains. The town is 2000 years old, and is very special with its many winding stepped streets and its Andalucian flower pots in all colours. The town is so far not very affected by tourism so you may even meet goats in the streets, or the farmer riding his donkey.

The town is renowned for its mild climate, and local people say that they have "Mejor clima de Europa", the best climate in Europe. Here they grow tropical fruits like avocado, cherimoya and khaki, among others. The town has a bank, a pharmacy, a physician, and café’s and tapas bars. You also find excellent fresh food in the local market, like meat, fish and vegetables, in the Plaza in the centre of town.

It is a short distance to miles of sandy beaches or to visits to the national parks surrounding Torrox. In Torrox Costa you will find more of the usual tourist life. There are lots of restaurants on the beach promenade, and on Mondays a big market in Torrox Costa.

Welcome to Torrox and Torrox Costa
